Offense:
In a vast amount of the work I do, the things I design and the ideas I have one concept always comes back to me. Offence.
I have always been fascinated by offence and how far things are able to be pushed. In a world where things like cancel culture are so prevalent and where it feels like only one side of politics is able to have a voice otherwise you are automatically seen as the enemy, I have found that a lot of the ideas I have are sort of based on the concept of “how far can I go with this”
One of my biggest inspirations when it comes to my work is fashion designer Demna Gvasalia, a lot of his work during his time as creative director at Vetements and now Balenciaga has been based around his perspective on politics and society as a whole. A lot of the work is extremely satirical and almost mocks the fashion industry.
Some of his most notable works:
Hosting his Vetements SS/20 show inside a Mcdonald’s. This show featured a lot of well-known brands’ logos flipped into puns or bootleg designs

Selling $1,290 bin bags as part of his FW/22 collection

Although i don’t particularly believe in all of the statements he makes with this work i think his design language and art direction is nothing short of genius.
meaning
With my work, I try to stick to a particular ethos and will not cower from it, for example, if I create a project and for whatever reason, someone doesn’t like it or disagrees with it or simply doesn’t get it I will stick to my guns in every situation this is why I am very careful in the concepts I choose to base my work around and the messages i choose to put out.
because everything is very meticulous I tend to be very unapologetic in my work, my ideas and my beliefs.
research
one thing that I really hate about the way things are and the current state of the world is people simply don’t do research and take nearly everything at face value. for example, the world and especially the youth have such a sheep mentality of everyone is saying this so it must be true, we see it a lot with cancel culture with people not bothering to examine the evidence and look at the details and think for themselves that they just tend to hop on the bandwagon of hate and this is one of the things i see most dangerous today, people losing the inability to think for themselves and being sucked into this herd mentality.
That is why research is so important to me, before I would make a statement, send a message or make an accusation I make sure everything I am conveying had bulletproof sources, data and facts to back it up because the least valuable thing people could be putting out there is fabricated information.
